Born in 1985 in Kanagawa, Japan.
Completed a PhD in Fine Arts at Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts) in 2016.
Based in Ōtsu, Shiga Prefecture, he is a member of the shared studio "Yamanaka Suplex" His practice spans painting, photography, rotating objects, and trompe-l'œil–like installations that make full use of spatial illusions.
Statement :
My work aims to redefine the act of “seeing” and to question how perception actively constructs our experience of the world. In the exhibition space, I present environments that allow physical space and visual information to be reshaped by the viewer’s body and movement.
Space, in my understanding, is not fixed. Its meaning shifts depending on the position of the observer, the movement of their gaze, and the passage of time. For example, a viewer might perceive an image differently depending on their angle of approach, or experience visual information that changes over time—prompting them to become aware of the uncertainty inherent in the act of seeing. These elements reflect my belief that what we perceive as “reality” is not consistent or objective, but rather fluid and constantly reconfigurable.
In my work, space is not treated as a stable, three-dimensional entity but as a "perceptual space" that is continually reconstructed through vision, memory, prediction, and bodily movement. This space is contingent on both the conscious and unconscious actions of the viewer, and only comes to life through their engagement with it.
Within the exhibition space, the viewer is not a passive recipient of visual information, but an active participant in the reconstruction of perception. Through interaction with the work, the viewer experiences the uncertainty of seeing, and the flexibility with which space and time may be restructured—offering a chance to reconsider the foundations of what we commonly take to be “reality.”

滋賀県大津市にてシェアスタジオ「山中suplex」メンバー。絵画や写真作品をはじめ、回転するオブジェや、空間を利用したトロンプ・ルイユ（Trompe-l'œil、騙し絵）的なインスタレーション作品などを制作する。
Statement :
人間の”みること”の能動性をテーマに、絵画や写真作品をはじめ、高速回転して残像を見せるオブジェ、マスキングテープを使ったトロンプ・ルイユ（騙し絵）のインスタレーション作品など様々なメディアを用いながら作品制作を行っています。最近では私たちがそれぞれに知覚する世界の誤差に興味を持って制作しています。「みる」を視覚的な情報の取得方法ではなく、人間の意思が介在する形での、知覚のあり方として人が「みる、みえない、みようとする」領域へどのようにアクセスできるのかの手法とともに、僕ではない誰かとの共有している「場」を共に「みること」についてを考えています。
