The Light is Sliced on You (Sometimes, It’s called “Horrore chuchu parero”)

A large-scale kinetic sculpture featuring a slowly rotating hexagram, its surface entirely covered in gold leaf to render “light” as an emblematic image. Familiar to many, pentagrams and hexagrams are universal symbols often drawn from memory—graphic attempts to give form to that which has none: light itself.
The title includes the phrase “Horrore chuchu parero,” a magical incantation from a robot anime the artist watched as a child, where the hexagram appeared as a motif. However, in other contexts, the hexagram is also a political and religious symbol—appearing on the Israeli flag and associated with Judaism and Zionism. Because of this, its depiction in anime and manga has become increasingly sensitive.
This work reconsiders the hexagram as a multi-layered symbol and draws attention to the process by which such signs are deliberately rendered invisible. It questions where the light of this star leads us—amid personal memory, collective semiotics, desire, and social restraint.
六芒星がゆっくりと回転する大型の立体作品。表面は金箔で覆われ、象徴的な図像として「光」を視覚化している。五芒星や六芒星といった図形は、誰もが一度は描いたことがある普遍的な記号であり、本来かたちを持たない「光」にイメージとしての輪郭を与える行為でもある。
タイトルに含まれる「ホロレチュチュパレロ」は、作者が幼少期に観ていたロボットアニメに登場する“魔法の言葉”であり、作中では六芒星のイメージと結びついて用いられていた。しかし、六芒星という記号は、他方でイスラエルの国旗やユダヤ教、シオニズム運動の象徴としても機能しており、近年ではその政治的文脈ゆえに、アニメや漫画といった表現の場において扱いが慎重になりつつある。
本作は、そうした多義的な意味を持つ六芒星という記号をあらためて見つめ直し、その意味が過剰に立ち上がらぬよう回避される過程──すなわち「見えなくなる」こと──そのものを主題としている。個人の記憶と社会的記号、欲望と忖度の狭間にあるこの星の光は、果たしてどこへつながっているのか。
